Here is a great picture from 1968, one for Wynn's Heavy Haulage enthusiasts. It was taken in Wolverhamton, possible Edwards Dank's. The vehicle is a Scammel Contractor and shows driver Bill Wade with crew waiting to load. The trailer was probably 888 a Scheurele 32 wheel flat bogie. And yes I probably have spelt Scheurle wrong !
In the 1960s when working for Wynns, and in Manchester we used to keep the heavy trailers in Ancliffes yard in Urmston , next to the sewage farm. Has anyone got any memories or better still any pictures of this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the history of Heavy Haulage . I learn a lot on this, I have also a plan to buy this kind of vehicle for my hauling business.
