Welcome
Welcome to my new Blog, Jans Model Buildings. Please join me in the wonderful world of miniature and talk together about the important things in life, Models, Toys and fun.
How awful to hear that Craig Pearce of Wilson Edward Toy Soldiers has passed away. Craig was a prolific builder and innovator . His military figures were inspirational as were his Australian Civilians. Will be sadly missed.
I am currently working on a North African Diorama for 54mm Figure Collectors, the low relief diorama will include buildings, a Mosque and watch tower, and will be approximately 2ft wide by around 8inches deep. I am not sure of the excact hight at this time but I will announce it when I have more details, along with some images on my website www.ogaugemodelbuildings.com
I have added a picture of my new English Church. It is based (roughly) on St Mary's at Llanwern Monmtshire just outside Newport. I used a DAS coating textured with a small plaster press I made some years ago, to represent random old stone work. The stone work on this lovely old building had been patched and repaired many times over the years, t makes a great prototype.
I have just finished a Chinese Gate for the boxer rebellion period and have enclosed some new images. I love making these and have revised my original design and hopefully improved it.
Todays Rant What absolute idiots are in control of television in particular the BBC. Still laboring on the PLEB and the Policeman story, they are referring to the word as the "P" Word, Does anyone know in that ridiculous cathedral to misguided political correctness, the true meaning of the word Pleb. Its as harmless as saying paper bag or wheel barrow!
